The Village Hall was rebuild during 2010 and eary 2011, opening in late April 2011. Below is a timeline of key events that have taken place since that opening date.

26/4/11  Building handover
21/5/11  Open day for village to come and view the hall, stalls and demos from all user groups.  (see photos)
26/6/11  Official opening, invited guests
Summer holidays.  Free playrangers events for under and over 8s.  Sports and craft activities run by ccp staff.  2 sessions for under 8 and 2 for over 8s. Hall with support of PC.
Autumn:  Table tennis open day for youth funded group.
4/12/11  Christmas Festival.  Christingle service and turning on of village lights.  Salvation Army band in the hall, stalls run by user groups, community and commercial groups.  Santa’s grotto run by the playgroup in the meeting room.
Easter Holidays: Free playrangers events for under and over 8s.  Sports and craft activities run by ccp staff.  1 session for under 8 and 2 for over 8s. Hall with support of PC.  Active Kidzalso offered a holiday session.
April 2012 Stanwick Village Hal was shortlisted in the RICS  East Midlands awards for community benefit.

9/4/12 Stanwick Race day.  (www.stanwickraces.org.uk) .  Hall used for community stall bacon butties and refreshments sold by the church.  Also used for baggage store.  400 runners entered the different events plus supporters and community members.
Parish Council:  Lobby area used for questionnaire feedback with Stanwick Parish council and ENC running a drop in.

4/6/12 – 5/6/12 Jubilee weekend
Summer holiday events:  Active Kidz, Drama workshops x3, Table Tennis session,  Community games Olympic event, cookery sessions for under and over 8s  (see flier)
Connextions: Community career advice drop in weekly from Sept.
8/9/12 Youth Action Pocket Park day, hall as base for introduction and lunch.  Making bug homes for the new community pocket park.
8/9/12 Drama group auditions for community group open to all.
21/9/12 Bat evening run by the Pocket park group, initial talk in the hall then bat spotting on site. 
29/9/12 Parish council open day, feedback from questionnaire.
29/9/12 Village Evening of Local Talent, Organised by Stanwick Church
26/10/12 Owl Night run by Pocket Park group.
31/10/12 Community Halloween Party
18/11/12 Gift Fair
30/11/12 Reindeer racing in aid of Cransley Hospice
1/12/12 – 2/12/12   Festival of Christmas.  Saturday night fish and chip supper.  Sunday Christingle, Festival of Christmas, stalls rides and lights turning on.
29/12/12  Circus skills workshop.  Participants tried out a number of skills including juggling and stilt walking.  All took part in a performance at the end of the event.
26/1/13  STAGs youth drama group Christmas Carol Production.
15/2/13  Quiz night and supper in aid of Breast Cancer.
16/3/13 Friends of Stanwick Church.  Alan Bennett Monologue evening performed by local village actor Tim Cole.
23/3/13  Touch of Eden nursery Barn Dance.  
30/3/13 community Easter Party and Easter Egg Hunt.
1/4/13 Stanwick Races Annual race day.  400 runners take part in the 10k and 5K race.  Local children take part in the fun run.  In there hall there were community stalls, music and bacon butties on sale.  One committee room was used as the baggage store point and the other for first aid.

17th January 2015  Alice in Wonderland performed by STAGs drama group.

About Us

The Village Hall

The Village Hall at Stanwick opened in May 2011 following a rigorous fundraising programme, managed by our Trustees. The main funding came from the Big Lottery,  NCC and ENC with other contributions being donated from other bodies and members of local community.
