Do I need to include set up and clear away time in my booking time?

Yes, due to our popularity hall events are booked back to back so you need to ensure you allow enough time to set up and clear away. For children’s parties we recommend 30 minutes to set up and 30 minutes to pack away.

Is the kitchen included with my booking?

Yes the kitchen is included with the main hall booking. If you have booked the committee or Shant room please inform the facilities manager if you wish to use the kitchen for refreshments and normally this can be arranged. The kitchen can also be hired separately if caters wish to cook and prepare food on site.

I would like to use the Committee room for bar/catering is this included?

No the committee room is hired out at a separately at a separate rate. Please consult the current hire rates in the booking tab.

What facilities are there in the kitchen?

Large fridge, freezer, hot cupboard, urn, commercial oven. Mugs for making tea and coffee. Washing up liquid is available, please bring your own tea towels and bin bags. Take rubbish home with you.

Do you have crockery and cutlery?

These are loaned on request. There is a kitchen store cupboard containing cutlery and crockery for 100 guests. These include large plates, small plates and bowls. Wine, high ball and beer glasses are also available. Please request the key for the kitchen store upon booking if you wish to make use of it.

Is there anyone who can help set up the furniture for my event?

Yes, if you are short of help or are planning a large function the caretaker can be booked to set, clear away furniture and sweep the floor at and extra charge of £8.50 per hour. Hall hire must be paid for this time too. If you would like to meet the caretaker prior to your event to discuss your table layout this can be arranged.

How many tables and chairs are there?

For the main hall there are 20 large main hall tables which measure 76cm x 52cm (30inch x 60inch) The tables look good with banqueting cloths on them. There are 100 blue padded banqueting chairs. Committee room tables measure 120cm x 80cms (47.5 inch x 31.5 inch).

Is the hall large enough for a bouncy castle?

Yes we have had some parties who have had more than one bouncy castle. The hall has a high ceiling and is designed to play badminton in at its highest point it is 8 metres. (17m long and 11m wide).

Does the hall have a sound system?

No please bring your own if required. Our premise licence requires us to have doors and window vents closed when music is being played.

Can I put up decorations?

Silver hooks have been fitted around the room under the sound boards; these are perfect for banners, bunting or voile decorations. If you wish to stick up any items please use white tac and remove thoroughly after the event.

Can we use a smoke machine?

No the fire alarm is very sensitive and smoke will trigger the alarm and disrupt your party.

Can we use the patio area?

Yes the patio area is for use by hall users, please ensure doors are kept shut when microphones or music is playing. The patio area is fully contained and safe for children to play in.

Can we use the garden next to the hall?

The gardens are open space managed by Stanwick Parish council for the community and visitors to enjoy. Visitors use at their own risk and children should be supervised at all times. A key to the gate can be found on the main door key ring. If you would like to use the garden for a specific activity or event please contact the clerk to the parish council This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for permission. Please also make the hall facilities manager aware that you plan to use the gardens.

Can anyone use the lobby area?

The lobby area is a public area and can be used by any member of the community when the hall is open in the daytime. Hall and local information are provided for public use.

Do I need to clean the hall after my event?

We ask that users leave the hall in the condition they find it. Access is given to the cleaners cupboard, normally the floor requires sweeping and any spillages require mopping up. Please wipe down the kitchen surfaces.

What happens to my deposit?

The deposit is held against breakage and damage and is returned once the hall is checked after your event. The full hire fee is due before the event.

About Us

The Village Hall

The Village Hall at Stanwick opened in May 2011 following a rigorous fundraising programme, managed by our Trustees. The main funding came from the Big Lottery,  NCC and ENC with other contributions being donated from other bodies and members of local community.
