Welcome

Welcome to the Stanwick Village Hall website!
April 2010
This is a really exciting time for Stanwick, after many years in planning we are pleased to have secured funding for the redevelopment of the old British Legion Hall and Shant. We hope to complete on the transfer of the site from East Northants Council in the next week and then we will sign a contract with a locally based builder for the final design and construction of a new village hall and community centre for Stanwick. You should see some activity on the site within weeks.
Thank you to those who have helped during the last decade in fighting for the site to be retained for the Village, responding to questionnaires, helping with funding applications, making donations, and acting as Trustees through the seemingly long and on occasions frustrating period that has got us to this point. Thank you also for the encouragement which has been crucial in keeping us going when things have not gone in our favour and at times appearing to achieve nothing!
We now need to focus on ensuring the success of the village hall and community centre and we need your help.
The key priorities over the next few months are:
the final design for the building and fitting it out,
engaging with all local organisations to ensure the facility is used by all the village and opens to a busy booking schedule
recruitment and employment of a manager to take control of bookings, administration, cleaning etc
sourcing continued support and further funding for fittings and equipment
We need different skills and new energy to take us through the next stage of the facilities development so please do let me know how you can help.
Come and help make a positive difference to the lives of the people of Stanwick for the next 100 years.
I look forward to hearing from you.
